How KPI Health Helped an NHS Trust Overcome Delays in the OMFS Pathway

Overview

An NHS Trust faced significant challenges meeting key elective care targets, placing them in NHS England’s Tier 1 group for organisations at risk of missing these crucial benchmarks.

The Trust needed to accelerate the pace of delivery and reduce the number of long-wait patients, particularly on the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) pathway.

KPI:Health collaborated with the NHS Trust to address these challenges. Since 2021, KPI Health supported the OMFS recovery effort, completing 5,501 patient pathways.

This led to a significant reduction in the number of patients waiting over 52 weeks, contributing to a 94% decrease.

Our partnership enabled the NHS Trust to become one of the first to exit NHS England’s Tier 1 group, signalling a significant improvement in elective care delivery.

The focused intervention resulted in almost a 100% reduction in patients waiting over 52 weeks for treatment. By effectively managing patient pathways and targeting long-wait cases, KPI Health not only supported the Trust’s elective recovery but also improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.
